Specialists from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration will be on hand to answer questions on the types of assistance available to victims of recent storms.

People and business owners who sustained losses from the severe storms, tornadoes, flooding, landslides and mudslides April 2 through April 17 should register for assistance before visiting a disaster recovery center.

Registration is available online www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 800-621-3362.

According to the Courier-Journal, 1,438 people have contacted FEMA for assistance or information and $2.2 million in grants have been approved for eligible applicants.
