The City of West Buechel has, at any point in time these days, about $1.5 million in the bank. Generally, it seems, the city has more income than it knows what to do with in addition to sitting on a big wad of it. The city's money is under the joint control of the Mayor and the Clerk-Treasurer.
Somebody has to be bonded for $1.5 million, or the system must be changed. This is the way it was under Sharon Fowler (ha, ha, ha) and this is the way it is now.
Trust has nothing to do with it.
Liking or disliking the Mayor, whomever that is from time to time, has nothing to do with it.
